Markham Adopt-a-Park program update

Adopt-a-Park Program

Settlers Park Residents Association is very happy to be participating in the Markham Adopt-a-Park program. We adopted German Mills Meadow and Natural Habitat parkland on April 14, 2013. Markham has recognized our contribution by displaying our name on the Adopt-a -Park sign in the Meadow. The city has supplied us with two new benches and several garbage receptacles.

Our members have participated in two annual park clean-ups, one in the spring and one in the fall. This is an environmental stewardship and public service program. It is an opportunity for volunteers to enhance their local park system by keeping the area clean of debris. It is a way for environmentally-minded citizens to make a personal contribution to a more beautiful environment and to meet people in the local community.

Through the Park Watch, the public can report any concerns or items requiring maintenance directly to the City of Markham’s Contact Center at 905-415-7535.

We offer community hours to high-school students who volunteer to participate.
