Two baby deer addition to our German Mills Settlers’ Park and Natural Meadow Habitat

Dear friends,

Can’t help sharing wonderful news with you! The deer couple who you may often saw at our Park have had an addition and now the most luckiest of us could see the beautiful baby deer.

I was among those lucky guys this morning and saw the deer mother followed by two beautiful white spotted kids just a few meters from me on the south part of John street. I regret I did not have a camera with me to share the beauty of those wonderful creatures on the bright yellow flower field. Will try to keep the camera with me next time to share the joy of seeing this with you.

Also we are informed that permits for sports programs in Thornhill parks are being reissued now following the reports of two coyotes attacks on Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24. The last reported sighting of the coyotes was Tuesday, June 24 at 3 p.m. The City of Markham personnel and the Ontario Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) will patrolling over this weekend. It may be prudent to stay clear of wooded areas and not approach, feed or attempt to trap these animals.

Take care,

Art Pozdnyakov
