York region Council has approved a pilot program of installing red-light cameras on selected intersections throughout the region. This four-year program with estimated cost of $3.7 million will finance installation of red-light cameras in 20 locations.
The full list of York region locations where red-light cameras will be installed in Vaughan, Concord, Markham, Georgina, Aurora, King and Newmarket this summer includes such busy intersections as Hwy. 7 and Bullock Drive, Ninth Line and 16th Avenue, Yonge Street Ramp off Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 7 in Markham.
